Interview: FTampa
Hailing from Belo Horizonte, FTampa (Felipe Tampa) is one of those who are pushing Brazilian EDM to a next level. Professionally producing since 2010, Tampa presents a noteworthy list of original and remixed tracks, being increasingly recognized worldwide. 2013 was this young musician's breakthrough, when Hardwell played himself "FTampa - Kick It Hard" at Tomorrowland's Main Stage.
Chart-topping releases on international leading labels became part of a recent history and a pure talent proof, such as "5 Days" on Spinnin' Records; "Falcon" feat Bruno Barudi, and, "Kismet" feat Goldfish & Blink, both, on Revealed Recordings.
With support from the likes of Hardwell, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Sander Van Doorn, Chuckie, Fedde Le Grand, Showtek, Tommy Trash, Knife Party & much more, FTampa continues to move from strength to strength.
Currently on his first ever Australasian Tour, we caught up with FTampa ahead of his one and only show at Code on the 30th July !
EDMNZ : Your latest track, “5 Days” has just entered the top 10 Electro House Chart on Beatport, for those who don’t know your music, how would you personally describe your sound?
FTampa : High energy drops and melodic breaks that will make people dance non stop!
EDMNZ : You will be playing at Code on the 30th of July, New Zealand’s #1 EDM Club. What can we expect from your set?
FTampa : I will play a lot of my original songs and will promise a killer set that will make everyone go crazy! Can't wait, I am really enjoying this tour and I am very excited to meet New Zealand!
EDMNZ : This is your first Australasian Tour, is there anything that you would like to see in New Zealand if you have time?
FTampa : People told me that New Zealand is beautiful by it self, can't wait to see the diversified nature, I've been watching pics on the Internet and looks amazing!!!
EDMNZ : What has been the most memorable event in your career so far?
FTampa : Everytime I go to a gig and see that my fans are there and are enjoying the set, those are the moments that make all my work worth it!
EDMNZ : Lastly, what can we expect from FTampa in the future?
FTampa : Great colabs, great remixes, keep doing my music and try different sounds!
